About WaveSphere
WaveSphere is an independent radio discovery and listening platform designed to make live radio easier to discover, organize, and enjoy.
We aggregate publicly available station information and stream links from third-party radio directories and station sources. WaveSphere does not claim ownership of third-party station content unless explicitly stated (for example, any original WaveSphere exclusive playlists).
Who operates WaveSphere
WaveSphere is built and operated as an independent project. There is no large corporate entity, office, or employee roster behind it. Decisions about features, data sources, and content policies are made by the project maintainer(s).
We aim for honesty over marketing theater: no invented awards, partnerships, or listener counts.
What WaveSphere does
- Helps you browse and play live radio streams from many regions and languages
- Provides a clean player experience with favorites, recent history, and optional lyrics/identification helpers where available
- Offers exclusive local playlists when files are provided by the project
- Shows announcements, maintenance status, and changelog when published by the admin tools
Where station data comes from
Station metadata and stream URLs primarily come from public radio directory APIs and similar open sources (for example, community-maintained radio browser data). Individual stations remain the property of their respective operators and rights holders.
Stream playback happens directly between your browser and the station’s stream server when possible. WaveSphere does not re-broadcast or host third-party audio streams.
How stations are added
Stations appear based on data from the directories we use. We do not manually curate every station worldwide. Quality and availability vary by source.
If you operate a station and want it considered, or need corrections, use the contact path below. There is no paid placement or guaranteed listing.
Station removal and corrections
If you are a station owner or rights holder and believe a listing is incorrect, unauthorized, or should be removed, see our Copyright & Removal page for the preferred process. Provide enough detail so we can identify the entry (station name, UUID if known, stream URL, your relationship to the station).
Broken streams
Streams go offline frequently for reasons outside our control (station-side changes, geo restrictions, temporary outages). Where possible we surface last-check style status so you can see whether a stream looked reachable recently. We do not guarantee uptime of any third-party stream.
Privacy
Favorites, volume, theme, and similar preferences are typically stored in your browser (local storage). We use Firebase for admin authentication, announcements, feedback, and related backend features when configured. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Please do not send passwords, private keys, or unrelated bulk marketing.
What we are not
We are not a record label, a licensed radio network that owns the stations you hear, or a company claiming exclusive rights to global radio. Transparency about sources and limits builds more trust than oversized claims.
