Copyright & Removal Requests
Important: WaveSphere does not claim that all radio stations are “licensed by WaveSphere.” Most listings and stream links come from public directories and third-party sources. We are not the copyright owner of station programming.
What WaveSphere displays
Typically: station name, tags/language/country metadata, and a link or player connection to a stream URL that was published in a directory or similar source. Audio is served by the station’s own infrastructure when playback succeeds.
When to contact us
Contact us if you are a station owner, authorized operator, or rights holder and you believe:
- A listing misrepresents your station
- A stream URL is outdated or should not be linked
- Branding or metadata should be corrected
- A listing should be removed from WaveSphere’s presentation of directory data (to the extent we control that presentation)
Preferred request process
- Identify yourself and your relationship to the station (owner, licensee, authorized agent).
- Provide the station name as shown on WaveSphere, any station UUID if known, country/language, and the stream URL if relevant.
- State clearly what you want: correction, URL update, or removal from our UI / cached presentation.
- Include a contact email for follow-up.
- Send via the contact path on the About page or the in-app feedback channel with subject line “Station removal / copyright”.
What we can and cannot do
- Can: Adjust or suppress how a station appears in WaveSphere’s own interface where we control the data layer; update docs; point users to official station sites.
- Cannot always: Delete entries from upstream public radio directories we do not operate; force third-party stream servers offline; grant or revoke broadcast licenses.
If the issue originates in an upstream directory, we may also direct you to that directory’s complaint process.
Counter-notice / disputes
If a listing was removed based on a request and another party disputes that removal, we may restore the listing after review or leave the matter to the parties and upstream sources. We are not a court.
WaveSphere original materials
For copyright claims regarding WaveSphere’s own UI, documentation, or exclusive hosted playlists (not third-party radio), describe the material and your claim in the same contact channels.
Good-faith note
We prefer clear, factual requests over threats. Providing accurate station identifiers speeds resolution. Abusive or bulk automated demands may be ignored.
